First Annual Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat Highlights

The first annual drive-thru Trunk or Treat defied expectations and proved that hard work plus consistent faith in God is a recipe that will never fail. 

After months of planning, the day arrived and our 30+ volunteers, including Bethany members, the Boy Scouts and local emergency responders, began building out their trunks into the most spectacular scenes. From the pumpkin patch to CandyLand and Dracula’s den the volunteers went above and beyond to bring these ideas to life. 

“The participants and cars were decorated so cutely. My daughter enjoyed the event so much! I appreciate all the volunteers who made this happen for the children. Thank you for doing this!”

As the first car entered, the energy was palpable. The planning paid off as smiling faces after smiling faces passed through the parking lot. With so many children potentially not getting to experience traditional Halloween fun this year, you could see the excitement in their eyes and smiles behind their masks to be able to partake in a little bit of holiday fun. 

God was truly watching over the event and in return we were able to share the heart of Jesus with others.

More than 250 children attended the event, and our hope is that they continue to return to Bethany. The drive-thru Trunk or Treat was a wonderful first experience to showcase what Bethany is all about and how much we have to offer to our fellow neighbors. 

“During such an uncertain time, it was nice to have a Halloween event that was fairly safe by social distancing standards. My kids really looked forward to this event, and they were not disappointed. It was so much fun to see everyone's creativity on display and all of the participants were so kind and friendly. Each child went home with an entire basket full of treats, which also made them very happy! It was a good experience for us all. I was also glad to receive the little pamphlet about “A Special Treat for Everyone." My daughter has asked me to read it to her a few times and was telling her grandmother about how Jesus is the greatest gift. It was a nice way to transform a secular Holiday celebration into an outreach opportunity.”
